You shouldn't create a new XML file for each backup. The XML document is only there to save your settings so you don't have to run through the Wizard each time you create an image or backup. You generally only need one for your system backup and perhaps another for your data backup. It has no other purpose and is not require to restore.
You should save the backup definition to your local drive not to the location of the image. The default location is c:\<USER DOCUMENTS>\Reflect.
