Mount Image w/o starting Explorer ??

1) Is it possible to mount an image without having Explorer start? As I don't use Explorer much, I have to close same and start my two-panel file viewer. Before, with Acronis, all I got was a confirmation 'image mounting successful' (or similar). All I need...

2) Unrelated, after image verify, the 'shield-icon' remains red. Suggestion: it should turn green to signify that this image has been verified during backup or manually.
