Hi
Thanks for getting back to us.
It wasn't necessary to reinstall XP. The purpose of a system image is that you don't have to re-install Windows. I suspect that when you re-installed XP, partitions were created with a slightly different offset.
This will prevent incremental images from appending to an existing backup set as the drive layout has changed since the set was created.
Please create a new 'Full' image and subsequent 'Incremental' / 'Differential' images should append without a problem.
If you continue to have problems then please edit your XML file and re-select the disk and partitions.
Microsoft Volume Shadow copy Service is failing.
Please open a support ticket so we can request further information to help you further with this:

XML backup definitions are just instructions for repeating backups. The files should be stored on a local disk and should not be saved to the backup target drive. The default location for backup definitions is: 'c:\<USER DOCUMENTS>\Reflect'.
Kind regards

Please note that the XML is not in the target drive to be restored, but the source drive containing the backups. Curious, no?
