Slow Restore

I have version 5 and am having an issue with slow restore times. The server backs up in 3 hours to external hard drive (WD Elements 1Tb) and I have been doing DR testing. The restore time is VERY slow. The same backup that takes 3 hours is taking 8.5 to restore.

I have tried restoring from the Rescue CD and from within the OS. Both restores took over 8 hours for the data drive. (2tb drive with about 200Gb used)

The OS drive restores in about 35 minutes.

The first DR test was booting from rescue CD to restore the OS drive (35 minutes) and then a redeploy since it was dissimilar hardware (DR server in my LAB environment). After booting the OS and letting windows find all the hardware, I did the restore of the data drive from within the windows OS. Restore took over 8 hours

The second DR test was booting from rescue CD to restore the OS drive (39 minutes), then a restore of the data drive (still running at this point but it looks to be another 8 hour restore) then I will do the redeploy and reboot. All from withing the rescue CD (windows PE version 3.1)

So why the slow restore speeds? Anyone else experiencing this with version 5? I have the latest build as of last week.
