Rescue USB - Irratic Behaviour

Hello All,

This is my first post to the Forum - Purchased Reflect Ver5 Pro many years ago(Started using just a few weeks ago - Curious). OK - my question.

I have an environment as follows:
SSD as Boot Disk
Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation 64bit
HDD as Data disk

I "Create an image of the partition{s} required to backup and restore Windows" - I think it is being created fine - no problem at all in creation & usage of this image.

Then I "Create bootable Rescue media" on a USB drive on the same environment. I prepared USB as guided at http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/display/KNOW/Preparing+a+USB+stick+for+Windows+PE

I need to boot from this USB if I need to restore the OS from the image"; however I find that machine boots from the installed SSD OS even after I change Boot sequence to boot from USB.

Than I "Create bootable Rescue media" on the same machine with the following changes:
Now the SSD has been removed and original OS HDD has been connected.
Windows 8.0 Professional 64bit
Another HDD as Data disk
Both OS and Data HDD have bitlocker

I find that this USB Rescue media works fine even in the SSD Boot environment. (Later I found that sometimes this USB media also does not work)

I am finding it difficult as I have to create Rescue Media on HDD OS for use on SSD OS.

One more thing - I am doing all these things in FREE edition of Ver5

Will look for your guidance about what I could be doing wrong - and how can I have a reliable Rescue Media.

With Regards

SMG
