I just used Macrium to clone my too small drive C: to a larger drive.
I am running XP Pro and I have Version 5.1, Build 5870 of Reflect Standard.
I had to use my Rescue CD and its "fix boot problems" option to get the new drive to boot but after that it worked fine. Except that the option to boot to the Rescue environment was not there as it had been on my old drive C:. I started Macrium and added that boot option. Then I turned it off and rebooted. At start up there were TWO lines of text on the screen offering the option to boot to the rescue environment. I selected the top one and found that I could not boot at all. I powered off and tried again. This time I selected to boot normally to XP. Again I was unable to boot at all.
I started form my Rescue CD again, ran the "boot fix" option and there after I could boot up just fine BUT there was no option offered to boot to the Rescue environment again.
I started Reflect and added to boot menu option. I rebooted and now I found THREE lines of text offering to boot to the Rescue environment. I selected one of them and I could not boot at all.
I have been through this cycle again and I now have FOUR lines of text offering boot to Rescue.
I did some reading in this forum and found advice that if you run Reflect, go to the add boot option part and select "No Menu" that that option would no longer appear. I did that process FOUR times. Then I began the cycle again by fixing boot problems, booting and running Reflect, add the boot menu option. I was unable to boot again and now I have FIVE lines of text offering to boot to the rescue environment.
Should I just give this up and be happy that I can boot at all?
Or is there something I can do to make this Boot Menu work?
If you've had the patience to read this . . .
Thanks,
Dan
