I tested out the 32bit vs 64bit, I noticed that the speed is faster with the 32bit, is it because the 64bit overhead ?

After getting your response, I checked the Task Scheduler history list for the backup task. In that log the tasks are shown as a launch failed with a different results code: 2147942658. This does not appear to be listed anywhere else.

I am wondering if it would be feasible for Macrium to have an option for file & folder backups to skip symlinks and junctions (do not follow on backup) and instead save a cmd script as part of the image the user could run after a restore to recreate any symlink/junctions that were seen? Just a suggestion of course.

have gone into "Other Tasks", Edit Defaults, Disk Space Management and set the following: Keep a Maximum of 1 full backup and Run Purge before Backup. However, the program did not purge the last backup before my scheduled backup this morning.

Should I delete all of the data of my backup drive before trying to run a backup again?

Should I just run an image backup and differential updates everyweek? A weekly update if purging works as it should, would only occupy less than half the capacity of the backup 1TB drive. I would appreciate some advice on this subject.

Hi
Thanks for your post sorry you are having problems.
This error indicates that the backup drive has dropped connection and stopped communicating with Windows. Please try setting the 'Enable file write caching' and then making another backup.
Take the 'Other Tasks' > 'Edit Defaults' > 'Advanced' > 'Advanced Backup Options' > 'Enable file write caching'
If that doesn't help, have a look in your Windows Event logs for errors that might point to the problem. Take the 'Other Tasks' > 'View Windows VSS Events' menu option in Macrium Reflect.
Kind regards
