Imaging "all local drives" does exactly what it says. It will create a backup image that includes all of the partitions for all of your computer's drives excepting those that use removable media.

Imaging "the partitions to backup and restore windows" will create a backup image of only the partitions that are used by the Windows operating system. That may include things like System Reserved partitions as well as the OS partition itself, but it will not include other partitions such as those installed by the original factory build even if they are located on the same drive. Nor will it include any data (documents, images, etc.) that are located in partitions other than the OS partition.

For additional info see http://www.macrium.com/help/v5/How_to/Backup/Backup_Partitions.htm

Regards, Richard

P.S.: If you want to create an complete image of all partitions for only one or two (but not all) of your computer's local drives, you can select the "all local drives" option and then, in the next screen, deselect (uncheck) the ones you do not want to include in the backup image.
