Thank you so much for your reply.

If I understand, I need to turn off my computer and turn it on again while pressing the F2 key. I assume from there I will see the menu that will let me change the order of the bios.

Once that is done, I turn off the computer again, insert my USB drive and turn on the computer. It should start. That confirms my rescue media is valid.

At this point I turn off the computer again, pull the USB drive and restart the computer hitting the F2 button which will bring up the Bios, allowing me to reset it back to the original settings.

Please confirm all that is correct.

What I still don't understand is how to recover the C drive if it actually crashes. I see two issues:

1)Presumably I couldn't go in and change the bios if the C Drive was dead so should I just leave it to boot from the USB? Will that cause other problems?

2)Somehow I would need to transfer all the C Drive info to a new drive. (For the transfer I assume something in the start up process would direct me to my external drive with the image of my C drive on it.)

All help in understanding and stepping through all this is appreciated.
